Good morning fine people of the Revit forum,
I've been trying to reproduce this overlapping roof, but can't figure out how to get the roof out of the way of the rear walls. The roof consists of one main section that runs the length the of the house at a 4/12 pitch, with four smaller sections that cover rooms that jut out from the main building.
I want to attach the walls to the roof, but in the back the main roof overlaps to cover the auxiliary roof. When I try to cut out a section of the main roof, the additional roofs detach and I lose my design.
Is there anyway I can cut the main roof to allow enough space for the walls to come up? At this point I'm not too concerned if its completely built out since I only need the model for elevations and floor plans. I've attached images that hope will be helpful in clarifying my inquiry. Thanks!

It would be easier to show you. Can you post your file.
...have you tried the Dormer Tool?
...another tip for you. Notice that not all the slope edges are defined in the pictured roof sketch.
Sure, and I'll try your first suggestion and accept it if it works.
FWIW: the back, right side gable roof is over-framed. In other words, it is built on top of the roof below it. There is no other way to support it based on the current design. You can model it in Revit to eliminate the portion of the lower roof that conflicts with your gable-end wall (using the dormer tool), but I don't see how it can be build that way. Maybe I'm missing something. Love to see your roof framing plans when your done.
