I'm an architecture student learning Revit and have no access to useful resources due to the pandemic and searching online has proven useless. Everyone I have shown my file to including my instructors have absolutely no idea what is wrong.
I have not been able to make certain elements snap in Revit, placing doors, windows, and walls does not allow me to snap despite having snaps turned on, restoring defaults, etc.
Additionally, the green modify ribbon is also inaccessible when placing these elements and i have absolutely no idea why.
Snap to what? when placing a door? It doesn't work that way. You place a door then move / copy it to snap to something.
The modify ribbon is active when you highlight something. When placing a door? No.
Not sure what the Green Modify Ribbon is but for a start, elements like Doors and Windows need a HOST...in this case a Wall. (See GIF below)
Hosted elements cannot be placed without the proper host and there are different types of hosted families (Wall/Floor/Ceiling/Work Plane...)
Some Hosted element are automatically deleted when you delete their host (windows and doors are one example)
