I have a project where I had to make the trusses. when I cut the truss, you only see the top and bottom chord of the member (depending on where its cut). I went into the family, went to the right elevation and drew symbolic lines from the top of the bottom chord, to the bottom of the top chord. Because of my section cut, the symbolic lines extend past the roof deck. is there a way to control these lines to where they never go past the top chord that's visible, no matger where you cut? please see the attached. The red X's are what I need gone. The blue lines represent the extent where I need the truss lines to stop. Thanks!
I tried that also, and the symbolic lines stayed where they were. I thought it would initially be possible to lock the symbolic line the distance of the bottom to top chord, in hopes of making it never pass those two points but that didn't work either.
some ideas:
Convert Symbolic Line to Model Line?
Change the Symbolic Line's Visibility Setting to "Show Only if Instance is Cut"?
Deselect "Draw in Foreground"? This will send the Symbolic Line to Work Plane it was sketched on. It's default position on the Detail Plane (e.g. the plane that is closest to you as you look at the view).

Why does the web not visible when you cut the truss? Can you share the family?
