hello all
is anyone have idea how to build this form using revit?what the best tools to make this free form.
the form that i used in the attachment image by exporting from sketchup to CAD. but it's not flexible if i use this workflow
You can import a Sketchup model directly into a Revit family (depending on Revit version). But this can be modelled as a family using the basic modelling tools using blends and swept blends.
the problem when i remodeling with model in place or mass is the point and edge of form cannot snap with 3D CAD MODEL.have you any idea with this problem?
I don't see a significant challenge. To me it looks doable in a Generic Family Template with a series of extrusions (voids and solids). I'd probably import the SKP into AutoCAD, Explode it, save the DWG, and import the CAD into a Revit Family and use it as a guide to build Revit geometry of it.
Post the SKP here.
If you already have that modeled in Sketchup and just want to convert it into Revit, you can use Link Cad and choose SKP file, you will need to back save your sketch file a bit to make it work.
After you Link your sketchup file, you can either just use the sketchup geometry and change the material through the material tool, or create wall or roof use By Face.
You can change your sketchup model afterworlds and update your linked model by Reload Link. You can also update your wall or roof to match your new linked file just one click.
