Modeling a bridge

Hello

as the title suggests, i have a bridge that i want to model, i just want to model it, dont need the rebar or to do sturctural analysis on it, i have the cross-section of the bridge, and the coordinates of the center line of the bridge (x,y and z). could someone help me. and if revit is not the optimum program to do so, what is?

Thanks in advance

Too generic question, please elaborate. Add images/sketches/the cross-section etc... Yes, you can model it in Revit.

@NERDASORUS

That's a super generic question :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht: hence my reply will be equally generic

  1. Model the profile as a generic adaptive
  2. Use Dynamo to set out the chainage alignment by placing points at coordinates … a similar graph can be found on this post https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-architecture-forum/dynamo-family-instance-with-excel/m-p/922040...
  3. Use the same graph mentioned above to place the family modeled in step 1 at coordinates
  4. Form solid shape from the placed profiles

Et voila...

@RDAOU Perhaps this was less generic then I initially thought, nice answer :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

Normally I would have elaborated more; however, when I see a user posting same question on several Revit Forums and/or a user who rarely marks a solution, I tend to be a little bit reluctant … not too generic yet not too elaborative :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

So, you fault someone for networking and judge them by solutions marked?

Rob

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

I evaluate the effort I should put in drafting a reply and not fault that someone...Help offered is relative

  1. to the efforts put by that individual in solving their own problem.
  2. to the level of appreciation/gratitude that individual shows.
