I am trying to draw an interior elevation with specific tile sizes which is important because the seams between two different tile types need to align in certain places (see attached pic) and that will scale with my viewport scale. The only way I've been able to do this is to create a model pattern of my tile and apply it to a filled region which I've had to draw on my wall and around all of the objects in the foreground of my elevation.
I would prefer to be able to do this as a graphic override of the wall surface pattern which would then automatically be hidden behind foreground objects BUT I can't apply a model pattern as an override to a wall surface pattern and going to the trouble of making a separate drafting pattern isn't a real solution because a drafting pattern won't scale to different views.
Is there a way to apply a model pattern to a graphic override on a wall surface pattern (or a workaround that's more efficient than tracing outlines for a filled region)? If not, does anyone tell me why this isn't possible (in trying to find the answer to this I've found forum questions on this topic going back to 2009; is this really not something the program is capable of)?
