Hi Everyone,
Im a beginner in revit. Im trying to model a multi story building and I'm unsure whether to model exterior walls for each story again or just one wall and make it go from the bottom to the top of the buildling. Please also explain why.
Thank you in advance!

Hi Anton,
Judging by your name (might be mistaking), you seem from the Netherlands/Belgium?
Check out this page: https://www.bimloket.nl/BIMbasisILS
There you can find some guidance of how to model stuff.
So answering your question:
You shouldn't model with walls going through multiple stories. Multiple reasons could be mentioned, like being able to filter by story in IFC etc.
Kind regards
Hi Jeroen,
Thank you for answering. You're right, my name is dutch but im german and unfortunately cant speak dutch.
What other kind of problems occur when modelling just one wall from bottom to top? Just trying to understand.
Thanks.
There are no right ways and wrong ways to do it. You can do either way as long as the outcome is correct. Also, the reason for building it as multiple walls because of IFC is not a strong one, because you have the option to split walls by levels when export to IFC.
