Model lines vs Reference lines in Conceptual massing

Hi,

I have been trying to find the difference between using Model Lines & Reference Lines in the Conceptual Massing environment but all I could find is that Ref-based forms has locked profiles by default (which can be unlocked) and needs to be manipulated using the ref-planes, while the Model-based form can be directly manipulated (but can also be locked).

Experts recommend using the Ref-based forms but I want to understand why since it's also possible to make Model-based forms parametric and isn't it better because it's not locked to anything?

Thanks,

If you know any sites that explains it thoroughly, please let me know. Or if you could sum it up for me, I'd really appreciate it too.

Model lines will show when you load the family in a project or another family.  Reference lines will not.

If you use model lines to create a form (path or edges), it will be gone when the form is created.  Reference lines will remain.
