Hello, I'm going forward with my master thesis and now another problem has come up. I need to model various vaults, in particular barrel vaults and they're going to be the lower part of the upper floor's beam (you can see the picture attached, sorry if it's written in Italian).
The thing is I tried with the model in place and also with adaptive families but the first one doesn't allow me to draw some model lines (which is the main goal of my thesis, because I'm analyzing the crack pattern) on the curved surface because I need to select the plane and it doesn't recognize the curved one, and the second one is too complicated and haven't figured out how to do it.
Can you help me?
Thank you very much in advance
(Please note that I have Revit 2019 and can't update the software because I've already made the most part of the model)

A simple barrel vault can be modeled using Roof by Extrusion. Then, to draw on its surface, do this: Massing & Site > In-Place Mass > then use the tools indicated in this image: Model line > On face > Spline through points > Follow surface > Follow Surface UV.
Thanks for your quickly and kind answer.
The problem is I need to draw some lines also on the lower surface of the vault, because it's the ceiling in many rooms in the building; is it possible to do so with the indications you've given me?
Thanks again
Of course. In my example, I am drawing on the upper surface. If I wanted to draw on the lower surface, I would flip the 3d view with the View Cube, and draw points on the lower surface.
Thank you so much again. Two last questions: is it possible to change the color of the line? And is there some kind of tutorial on how to make the vaults as roofs?

Thanks for the links, they're really helpful.
I don't know if it's off topic and I should open submit another question, but I'm also struggling with the filters and I was wondering if it was possible to filter some elements (like the walls) for the presence of a certain line model on them.
For example, I draw on a wall a model line that represents a serious crack pattern and I want the wall to be filtered in red for the presence of that type of line: is there a way to do so?
Thank you very much again
same process instead select floors, you can select walls. thanks

Thanks again. I know how to use filters but I don't see the possibility to activate them for the presence of a model line on the wall
Yes, of course.
I have a wall on which I've drawn a model line that represents a crack pattern. My goal would be to be able to filter the wall with a color code (for example red), in the whole project, just because it has that model line drawn on its surface. Is there a filter that can accomplish that? Do I need to make a new parameter?
Thanks
