Did you change the the inplace as column category? If yes, use the join geometry. Normally Structural column will not join with architectural wall unless the wall is checked on structural.

Hard to tell what I'm looking at -- or what I'm looking for -- in your screenshot.  Want to post the file?

hello, you won't be able to cut the wall with your model in-place column, you need to edit your column > open a Metric Column.rft and paste it there, add parameter > saveas as a family and load into your project then it automatically cut your walls or create a new column family with parameter. thanks

So am I right in saying that you cant cut/join system families with model in place components?

I have been trying to join this model in place stair with the adjoining wall and have been unable to do so.

Depends on the category, e.g. you can join them if you change the stairs to the wall category.

Its a bit annoying that we have to change the category to an incorrect one in order to make it work but it does the job.

Thanks!

There's always a reason, just like the architectural column can join with the wall, but not structural columns; joineries can be cut, but not furniture. We just need to adapt it. :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:
