Model Group Origin

I am creating a Model Group for a Condo floor plan layout. I model the elements and create group. Why is the Model Origin 2 levels below, which makes it reference a different level?

I can select it and move it up but the reference level still does not change? Why would the origin be so low?

The Group Origin has nothing to do with the Ref. Level.

Weird, cause that is the level it is referencing. Any idea as to why the reference level is below the placement level. I have ungrouped and regrouped and looked for any hidden elements that could be affecting it, but no joy.

Maybe the Group was initially created on the lower Level, then Copied up to the current Level--and the Group Origin stayed at the original/lower Level?

@cbcarch

Thanks, but I thought that too. I ungrouped everything and selected only those elements on that level and created the group, but the reference stays 2 levels below.

I'm not sure I understand the issue.  Are you saying that when you group Walls the Group Origin is placed at a Level  below the Walls?  Are the Walls' Base Constraint located at a Level below the bottom of the Walls?  In other words, are the Walls are Offset from their Base Constraint Level?
