Model Group Origin Changes While Being Copied from One Level to Another - Ceiling Elements

Hey yall - So in my model we have the same model groups in all 4 quadrants of the building. When I go to copy one model group from it's current level & corner (level 4) to the same corner at the level below - it gives me a pop-up basically saying when copied the groups now differ because some elements "have different positions relative to the group origin." It's in particular ceiling elements that are moving.

Not sure how the origin moves when it's in the same location as on Level 4.

The ways we have tried to copy - paste to selected level; paste in current view; just select and change to the floor we want from the properties bar; paste in same place on Level 4, cut & paste onto the level below - etc... On the current floor we can mirror the model group and paste it fine. But when it comes to copying/pasting to a different level is when this particular warning comes up.
If anyone knows something the team and I are doing wrong or have any tips, let us know. I've shared snips of the group, the warning and what it looks like after the warning below. Thanks!

What happens if you Place Group vs Pasting? Also how are the ceilings created? In-place ceilings might be to blame for fixtures moving if host (ceiling) relationship to the project origin isn't resolved well because it is in-place vs the system ceiling family. Face based families don't behave well with groups in mirrored conditions, they either move or flip. So for effective groups it is more reliable to use "not hosted" families, those that have a simple relationship to a level. Also walls in a group should not have a top constraint to a level, rather "unconnected" and a specific height provided.

The same thing happens when placing the group.
However - I did go back and look at the two ceilings in particular to see how they were made, if they were tied to anything. The solution was to delete and redo them. The copying has worked.

Looking at the relationships between ceilings and the level really helped. Thanks!
