MODEL COMPARE 2016,2017,...

Hello community,

Thank you very much in advance for sharing your knowledge.

I was very happy with the Compare Model add-on that Autodesk developed.

Any ideas why the have not update it to 2016,17....?

There is Navisworks Models Compare or and Add-on developed by Jeremy Tammik called Model Change Tracker, however none us as good as the Model Compare.

What are you guys using instead?

Thank you for your Forum Post, we will happily help you as best as we can.

Glad to hear that the Compare Model add-on for Revit is so useful for you. I am not sure why our engineers have not yet made it compatible with updates 2016 and 2017. You should contact them directly, by writing an email to [email protected]. In that way, you are reaching out to the development team directly.

On the other hand, regarding the same functionality in Navisworks – there is a way to compare 2 models.

We have a built-in function that allows you so compare one model to another: Compare.

I am aware of Navisworks compare tool, however the output using Navis is totally different, it is like compare a Ferrari with a Fiesta...!!!

You cannot even export the result to a .doc or .xsl file.

It is really difficult to track changes.

It would be great if this app get updated to new releases.

I understand how big the difference between the 2 tools is and how it impacts your work.
For that I am sorry that the Compare Model add-on is not yet up to date.

i just had our IT department do all of the available updates for Revit 2016 and 2017. In 2016 it had the extension add on but in 2017 no dice. on a few of our newer computers we only have 2017, is there something i am missing?
