Hi Everybody,
In our office local server works for two different platform MAC and Windows. Just recently we started to get strange messages and every morning we start every one of us in team realise there are some elements (even detail items and fill patterns) after syching with Central file lost and gone without deleting them by other colleagues in team. This is new to me and frustration because before weekend I lost almost most of Balcony railing in project and post and balusters were deleted.
What could cause this? Could it be server connection? In general is it Revit 2019 issue or Server issue? Why other teams they work in BIM 21 Graphisoft Archicad do not get this things.
Sometimes even by synchronization we just check several local files on monitor and it is so obvious synchronization does not work properly and latest changes are not loaded to another local file from central. That is very strange to lose views constantly and nobody delete them but they disappear. I appreciate if anybody has come across this issue to help me and my team are waiting for a solution. That is apart from the message for too many elements are missing which is another strange thing and very irritating to create central file everyday or every other day because of this. Any ides or thought I appreciate.
Thank you
Faced similar problem before. To solve it please follow these steps-
1-Open the central file with the detached option.
2-Make sure everyone in the team has closed the local file and archived them including the backup folder in their local computer.
3-Archive in some other location the central file including the backup folder.
4-Save the already open detached file as make it as central (go to options in the saving window).
5-Tell everyone in the team not to copy-paste the central file in their local computer rather open the central file from revit with the "create new local" option tick.
6-make sure everyone relinquish the file before closing revit.
It is just a normal cleaning procedure but our team understands it and we dont have this issue anymore.
Let me know how it works for your team.
