First time Revit user here (Revit LT 2020). I have managed to completely disappear my project manager AND property display boxes. Each component box is checked/selected per the 'User Interface' dropdown. I've deleted the UIState.dat file. I've gone down to a single monitor. I've done every listed "solution" provided by Autodesk to no avail. Please help.
Thanks in advance.
RD
Did you restart the computer after making the changes?
That I did, Rob. I'm going to delete the .dat file (again) and restart one more time. Don't remember if I restarted before or after last time.
I've never had to delete dat file when making changes.
Sometimes changing Windows display settings and applying and then changing them back resets those box placements so that they are on the monitor(s).
Me neither, but I was just doing what Autodesk told me. Restarted again. Still no Project Manager or Property Boxes in sight. Like I said, the User Interface tells me they are open... somewhere; but I cannot see nor find them.
I was on a multi-monitor system, but went to down to one until this is fixed. I have also done a repair. Nothing seems to work. I'm hesitant to uninstall and reinstall, but it may come to that.
I've run into this myself, and it occurs because I had a separate monitor connected at a prior time. The way I've solved it is by first plugging back into my second monitor, then moving the windows to the Project Browser and the Properties boxes back into my single monitor.

How about turning off those boxes, restarting, and turning them back on?
Therein lies the problem. I do not know where those windows are. I've tried every combination of 1 monitor; 2 monitors; flip-flopping which monitor Revit is on; etc. Nothing as seemed to work. I can't find the windows.
Download the attached ResetUI Batch utility ZIP file, extract, and run the BAT file (ResetUI) for the Revit version you want to reset (review included Readme.txt for more details).
Unfortunately, I'm running 2020 and that version doesn't seem to be included. Thanks, though. The effort is appreciated.
Thanks for all the help everyone. It is greatly appreciated. I finally just sucked it up and uninstalled / reinstalled. That did the trick. Fingers crossed I don't do whatever it was I did to put myself into this predicament. Wish me luck. ![]()
Thanks again,
RD
