Hello everyone,
I am currently working on a phase of a project that does not require wall patterns/fills to be shown on the plan.
I am aware that I can turn off the visibility per view/sheet in the Visibility/Graphics Overrides; However, I would like to turn off the wall patterns globally.
Now, I am aware that I can turn off the patterns globally by editing the wall assembly and changing the pattern in the material browser to none but herein lies the problem. For some strange reason, the standard options " Shading, Surface Pattern, & Cut Pattern" are not shown under the Graphics tab.
Does anyone have an idea why this is happening? I have attached screenshots of the material browser on the project being worked on and one from the standard Revit architectural template.
Thank you.
...or use Course Detail Level in Plan Views. That would do the trick. No?
Thank you for your input but no, that doesn't work. What happens when I change the detail level to coarse is that it will now show my stud walls as 2 lines which creates another challenge for me as I need to show the studs on the plans.
Thank you for your reply but I don't see any option to turn off the Cut Pattern from the Model Objects tab inside the Object Styles window. If I click on the Material column, that's where I get a cut pattern option inside the graphics tab of the material browser which is already set to none. am using Revit 2016.

Why not then just turn your wall into Parts and hide all but the Stud Core Layer in the View?
1. Fix the Material Browser
This might help\
2. If there are only few wall types which you are trying to fix, then Just Create " dedicated" wall types
for this phase ( Ex: Phase 1 - Wall A, Phase 1 - Wall B) without the pattern and in the next phase replace
all of them with new wall Types ( Ex: Phase 2 - Wall A, Phase 2 - Wall B)
make sure, the thickness of the walls remains same..
hope that helps
Cheers
