Mirror Project and Callout View changing Section view linework

We have an issue where were are trying to mirror a project. We have callout views defining an area of the plan. When we mirror the project, the section views stay aligned, but the linework and bubble shift away from the section location.

Not Mirrored

The location of the section remains where its supposed to be, but the section line works in moved away from the plan on all sections.

Does anyone know of any settings for these views to keep this from happening?

For now we are creating new views based on the view the callout lives on, but we have several plans set up with these callouts and all of them need to be able to mirror for lot drawings.

Revit 25.4

Thanks for any advice!

Josh

Were the Sections/Elevations selected when the mirror happened?

We had a similar situation with one of our projects. After looking at a couple of options, it was easier for us to remake the sections/elevations rather than try fixing the existing ones.

@hmunsell Thank you for your response.

I did not select the Sections. Below are the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Create a Callout view on a plan.

  2. Open the Callout view and place a Section.

  3. Execute the Mirror Project.

  4. Observe that the Section is misplaced. This is the issue.

The challenge we face is that we want this process to be automated, as remaking the Sections is not a viable option for us.

I'd like to add more information. This issue happens only when the Section is placed in the Callout View. If the Section is placed in the plan, it is mirrored properly.

I'm just curious: Why are you mirroring the Project from a section? When you say "Project," I assume you mean the entire building effort, not just a room.

Usually, when mirroring a project, the few times I've had to 😉, I set up a "Site View" where all model categories are on (all annotations are off), and the view range is set to encompass all available modeled content. Then, I select all the modeled content and run the mirror command.

@hmunsell  I am sure OP talked about Manage > Position > Mirror Project tool, not Modify > Mirror tool.

Manually stretch them back.

Unfortunately, that option is not feasible for me. I am seeking an automated process.

So you can manually do it but you won't.  It has been nearly two weeks since you started the question.  How long are you willing to wait for the bus that might never arrive?

Users have the option to manually reposition them; however, this serves as a temporary solution that introduces an additional step to their process. We are pursuing a long-term solution that is in accordance with our company's workflow.

Perhaps a programmer could code a tool to automatically align sections in plan view with their crop lines.
But I assume that programmer would want to charge for his work.

I've added an idea for Autodesk to implement it, but don't get your hopes up too high:

To follow up on what @arq_42 mentioned, maybe look into Dynamo and see if what you want can be done with that tools. There are over 400 Autodesk University classes on Dynamo. The link below shows the almost 200 "Instructional Demo" classes available.
