I have a project with a townhome design that is repeated and mirrored at different elevations. I creating the townhome as a building model and then linked it into a master site model where I can mirror and reposition it. In the master site model I have selected each instance to create a unique location. So far that is working fine, but when I go back to the building model and try to set the location to the mirrored instance in the site model I get the error message:
"This site corresponds to a mirrored instance of the document. Mirrored display of the current document is not supported. Please choose another site."
Also - and I think this may be related - the levels of the mirrored instance do not update when that instance is moved vertically to a new position. The instance that is not mirrored updates correctly.
What am I doing wrong here?
Hi @umbachdw,
Is the building model just one linked file? If you are creating multiple instances of the building model in the project, you must save each instance in a separate file and then link each file into the project. (see article)

I thought that might be the case. I don't want to have to maintain separate files for each instance of the model, which are identical except for location and elevation. My plan, at this point, is to just create a separate set of levels for each instance in the site model and turn off the levels in the linked model.
Hi @umbachdw & @andrea.kikuchi,
I too face the same issue.
If we copy the typical units model to link it in different locations, it will give problem to us while we revise the typical model.
Is there any other workaround to solve this problem?
