Hello Community!!!
Has anyone realized that when you mirror a floor with a surface pattern the surface pattern of the new floor is flipped 90 degrees,
Is this a bug of the software?
Many thanks and Merry Christmas to all...
Actually I don't think it's a bug. You mirror the element, thus the pattern is mirrored as well.
It follows Revit's logic. If you mirror any another element everything is mirrored: patterns, shared elements, reference planes,...
- Constrain the surface pattern
- Make a Group
- Mirror the Group
(This is a workflow proposed by @BIM.Consultant but I cannot find his original post at the moment.)
Thanks for the mention @ToanDN

As per your video, the alignment will not work (if mirroring with an angle) and instead you should place dimension and lock it to have the constrain.

I'm currently working in Revit 2020 and I am no longer able to replicate the solution above, when using an angled pattern. I've used this fix previously on an early project completed in Revit 2018, but when attempted in Revit 2020 I recieve the error message "The References of the highlighted Dimension are no longer parallel."
Have you been able to replicate this fix in 2020 or have you made note of a different solution?
Thanks!
