I am trying to join 2 roofs together using the 'Join' tool and selecting the 2 roofs but I get this error message in Revit 2020:
'Part of the roof to be joined misses the target face'
Any solutions?
I have inserted the file in this post too.
Also, can someone help me to model the rest of the roof? I have some problems trying to introduce a dormer into the roof and some small connected roofs joined with the main one. I would appreciate it very much. I have tried different commands, but since I am just a beginner in Revit I don't have a lot of knowledge and I am still learning.
Thank you.
IDK what its problem was where you had it, but I was able to get it to join by pulling the flat edge through the main roof and then use the join tool.
Than you for the reply and for the snapshots. I'm very new to Revit, when you say pull the edge is it literally just selecting it and pulling it? I have tried this method, but it alters the angle of the roof and it doesn't elongate the top edge.
You have to edit the sketch of the roof. Select the roof, and on the ribbon select edit footprint. Then in sketch mode you can select the edge and move it. Then finish the sketch. Now the roof edge will be "inside" the building. Now you can use the join tool.
is this the conversation about the designing of roof or physically installing roof. Because my question is related to installing roof in round rock. As its been 2 months and I haven't found the top roofer in my area.
