Materials Library causes CPU usage to shoot to 100% and PC shuts down

Hi all,

I just got a new PC for revit at work. However when I go into the materials library (or open enscape), task manager shows the cpu jumping to 100% on all cores and the PC gets overloaded and shuts down. The machine is a pre built powerspec G477 and has an I9-14900KF which to my understanding runs pretty hot.

When first experiencing this problem we thought it was an electrical issue so we tried different outlets, eventually thinking it was a hardware problem we returned the PC and got a replacement. Now the replacement is having the same problem.

My coworkers pc was upgraded with to same Powerspec but he is not experiencing this problem.

When reading other posts it seems like its due to some overclocking setting, however I haven't touched any of those settings. Could it be possible this is due to some kind of factory setting on the motherboard?

Main questions I have,

Why is opening material library causing my CPU to spike?

Why does this CPU spike cause my system to crash and shut down rather than throttle performance?

Has anybody dealt with this before? / What solutions should I try?

What are temperatures? Did you confirm CPU core load in the intel tool? Don't rely on Windows tool to monitor the CPU cores. What Revit and Windows version and is everything updated to the latest version?

How was that on the old PC?

Revit Version: R2026.2
Hardware: i9 14900K, 64GB, Nvidia RTX 2000 Ada 16GB
Add-ins: ElumTools; Ripple-HVAC; ElectroBIM; Qbitec
