Hi,
I have multiple imported families in my Revit project, some of which I am having issues with when viewing in Realistic Mode. The colour/material isn't showing, even tho I am pretty certain I have changed what is needed.
Can anyone help with this at all?

You appear to have a material parameter. But from the screenshot we can not see if the parameter is linked to geometry in the family itself. Consider uploading the family so we can have a look

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.
Sure, I have attached the file for you ![]()
Realistic only shows materials that have image maps...your Window Frame material is just paint and works only when rendered with Raytrace.

You sure about that, @Anonymous? ![]()
@Anonymous : I'm not readily seeing the issue. Realistic seems to work on my end. What am I missing?
Ugh...I need more coffee. Everything was showing gray as I was in a shadow... Ignore my previous comment.
That is how that material display in Realistic. You need to use Raytracing or Rendering to see the actual reflective effect. If you want to see white color in Realistic, use a different white paint material.
Thanks all for your help and contributions. I have began to make changes to materials but for some reason when I change a material texture it's changing others as well?
In the below example, one material is called "brick -", another called "Slate Slab".
The chimney is the material "brick -" and the patio is "Slate Slab". When i change either of these textures the materials will follow for some reason. Below I changed the chimney material/texture to bricks and once confirmed it is changing the patio to bricks also. It's also changing things like the garden gate you can see in the picture and more family objects.
Has anyone even had this problem before?
You have to make sure the material you're changing isn't sharing the same asset as another material or they will both change. So, when you create or duplicate a material, duplicate the asset it is using and rename it (see screencast). Just from your screenshot, that "Generic(20)" asset is being shared with 17 other materials.

When you duplicate a material, you need to go to the Appearance tab and replace or duplicate the Appearance Asset.
This worked :).
Thank you for your help and the quick and easy step-by-step solution video!
