This is a Two phase project with Podium+phase 1 residential, then phase 2 residential. Phase 1 + 2 are linked into the Podium model. I am trying to create material takeoffs by phase.
I am filtering my schedule by phase but the quantities are reporting the same for phase 1 and phase 2:
all of these materials are in the linked projects.
It seems that the masonry and podium materials which only occur in the host model are in fact being calculated correctly. That is to say, Phase 1 with filter set to show new produces an identical schedule to Phase 2 with filter set to show complete.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Phases are mapped correctly. I have introduced Phase as a field and confirmed that I can see materials from both phases, when I itemize every instance:
First preference: Separate schedules by phase with total material quantities.
Second preference, one schedule with total material quantities, sorted by phase with total material quantities.
I am also trying to figure out a way to further filter elements in the schedule by workset. I am only trying to schedule walls that are in the facade workset:
but given that I don't seem to be able to filter by workset, maybe I can filter by the fact that the facade wall types all start with a certain letter?
Again, this approach is correctly filtering elements in the host model but showing linked materials in facade walls as having the same quantity in phase 1 and phase 2, which is not correct.
I also need to be able to filter by Wall type or workset to exclude non-facade walls.
It seems like the worksets and links and relevant data wouldn't be preserved when I make a copy of the file.
That said, I can produce a dummy model consisting of a very simple podium with two micro buildings if it will help problem solve.
you could always eTransmit, but whatever works for you. A mockup is fine. Let's have a look at it.
Part material takeoff for phase 2, showing complete project:
But it shows nothing if I uncheck itemize by instance.
Obviously i would like to total same materials together.
This is more what I was trying to produce.
and I have reproduced it in the project file
But now i need it to count wall material that isn't in a part. Is there any way to count wall if part isn't available?
Or would you simply recommend making parts out of all undivided walls>
Are we going to a different topic now?
Is your question about the schedule showing the wrong phase answered?
I achieved what I needed to do by using a multi category schedule so I can include Wall area and Part area.
