Hello everyone
I would need to calculate the exact area of the individual wall layers.
The issue I have with my material take off schedule is that not all layers are diplayed and the ones that are displayed, the area does not correspond to the one on the floor plan, when CUT and JOIN geometry tools are used.
I list 4 scenarios that occur most common:
1. Vertical elements (blue) are embeded into the wall. When JOIN geometry is used, only the area of the blue element should be generated. The blue area is subtracted from the embeded wall layer.
2. The area of the two layers (from one red line to the other) should not be calculated.
3. Only one layer from each wall covers the element, not the entire wall. The rest of the layers should not be calculated.
4. Only one layer from each side covers the element, not the entire wall. The rest of the layers should not be calculated.
I think if your walls have special names and types you have takeoff material according your type walls
sometimes Revit can not break up all types by similar names
Joining will generate correct materials Volumes, not Areas. You may need to create Calculated parameters to get correct Areas from Volumes. You may also to try Create Parts and get the materials Volumes/Areas from Parts.
I don't understand how you expect to get accurate Material Takeoffs from this Model.
I don't see any embedded walls - just overlapping walls.
