Material Take-off Parts

Hello all,

I read in a thread that if we want to have more accurate  quantification it is better to use Parts.

I did an example in which I have a wall devided in parts and I modified it ,   and another wall not devided in parts. When I create the material schedule I take the same results for the area surface.. (check the attachment).

Is it possible to calculate exactry the area surface of the materian in the first wall?

Thank you in advance!

If you are modifying the parts, then use Parts. If not, either Parts or Walls. Or, do a MTO for both and compare them.

BTW: your screenshot MTO is showing materials for 2 Walls in their ORIGINAL state - NOT PARTS.  Remember: Parts is made from a copy of the Original Wall.
