Hello,
I modelled stairs and painted material to the step faces. It shows correctly in 3d but not material shows in plan (screenshot attached).
There's no graphic overrides, nor view template applied to the plan. I played a bit with the view range to check if that would help, but nothing.
It's probably a very simple solution that I didn't think of. Any ideas?
Thanks!
Stairs representation is symbolic in plan. You need to change the material of the Tread under the Stair's Properties.
I think you forgot to add the attached screenshot?
Did you check your model category visibility graphics?
just a question... if you painted the step "faces", that would be the risers... the face of a riser will never show in plan. (i guess thats not really a question)
Painting the face of a riser would show in section though, whereas painting in floorplan doesn't.
Did i?? screenshot attached
The visibility graphics of the 3d view doesn't have any overrides.
Did you understand my post? No stair geometry is being shown in Plan View. It's all symbolic linework. But the material of the tread is shown in Plan -- as weird as that sounds.
I have a question about that actually.
When I select the stairs and edit type, there's nothing about material. I have to select the stairs / Modify / select the flight of stairs / Edit type to eventually modify a material (screenshot attached, not sure it'll help though).
So I need to edit the stairs flight family within the in situ stairs family to modify material. That means making duplicates so all in situ stairs don't all end up with the same material. Is this correct steps?
In any case, it worked !! Thank you. I didn't know that "apply material to face" didn't work in all views.
