Is there a way to create a single material parameter and have it’s pattern direction differ depending on the geometry it is applied to?
I’ve created a table as a furniture family and I need to represent the table’s wood grain going in different directions (0.00°, 45.00°, 90.00° and 135.00°).
Right now, I have 4 different material parameters with the same material image but different image rotations. I’d like to only have only one material parameter with the option of changing the image rotation based on the geometry it is assigned to.
Is there a way to do this and, if so, how?
Thanks.
Hi
There are number of parameters associated to Material..
shading, surface, cut, relief, image, tint etc...
Because tilting a material will affect other factors too ( like surface pattern , image, relief image etc )
Tts better to create 4 different material, and use them in the instance parameter for any element..
If you are using Revit 2019, you may create a " Global Parameter - material " and have those 4 options
to use easlily..
Yes, you can. The image aligns to the workplane of the geometry. By hosting the geometry to the top face of a revolve, you can rotate the image .
