Material not transferring

Hi, I have a project I’m working on, where I created a material in Revit from a google image, the material loads and renders on my computer, but whenever I open the model on a different computer it doesn’t seem to load the material. Can anyone please help with this. Thanks.

Is the Material's Appearance Image on the other computer as well.  Edit the Material's Image and re-path it.

Thank you for the question @Anonymous , and welcome to the Revit forum!

As barthbradley mentioned, the image needs to be on the other computer. The following article has more info on the process for re-pathing if this is needed: Material Textures are not accessible in the Material Browser in Revit

Thanks for your response @Lance.Coffey  and @barthbradley . The material image is on a shared Dropbox folder. I am sending this project to an individual with access to the shared folder and they’re opening the project on their end with the expectation for the material to load without having to create a path. I tried embedding the folder path for the material in the render options, but still can’t get the material to load on their end. Also since the material image is in jpg format. I’m unable to add it to my library, which I thought might be an option.

How does the Image format prevent you from placing it in your library?

Thank you for the update @Anonymous,

Dropbox installs using the user’s folder (by default) for the sync’d data, this means that everyone accessing the shared Dropbox folder will have a different path to the image files.

Revit has a feature to deal with this, which is called Additional Render Appearance Path.

Each user that will be accessing the file, would need to set the path to the shared materials Dropbox folder on their system, and then the materials images should load.
