I have been having this problem for a wile know, and is driving me crazy.
I'm working with Revit 2018.3. I open the program and everything is fine, until after some time, I try to acess the material window and search some library material and can't find because, out of the blue, Revit decides it no longer cen "find" the libraries, both the default from Autodesk and my studios library. (see attached image)
The only solution is to close the program and open again...
This is horrible. Can't you find what the problem is and solve it, please?
Thank you for your input, @PrathapSekar, but both of those treads are for people that don't have the materials installed. I have and they work when I start the program. Revit just "forgets" about them after some time, can't say when or why. I believe there are more people complaining about the same problem that say the only solution so far is to close and open Revit. We will probably have to wait for some patch from Autodesk, if they can discover what the problem is...
PS: Working with Windows 10, if that could be related...
Ok, we are getting warmer... ![]()
I do have the office material library that is the same for all versions of Revit, and I do sometimes have more that one version of Revit open at the same time (like 2017 for making/editing families and 2018 or 2019 for projects) but would that create problems for the default libraries? I know we have them installed for all the different versions but I don't know how to check if the paths are actually correct until the error happens again and I can hover te mouse over the yellow triangle and read the message with the path.
If this is the problem then is still an Autodesk need to fix problem, because:
- first, I'm not going to have 2 libraries for materials (eventually I will create one for the new 2019, but because materials in libraries can't memorize hatches/patterns, there is no real incentive to upgrade, as far as I'm concerned);
- second, I've been working before with different versions simultaneously and this problem never happened before, so why would it happen now? Right?...
I will pay attention to see if the issue really surfaces when using more than one version of revit, and check the paths too. I will update the tread then. Until then, if anyone as more guesses or quicker workarounds, I'm all ears!
