matching terrain and model

Hi guys,

I built a project and want to import it into a terrain model. I have a problem where i cannot move the project base point into specific coordinates where the whole project is being moved aswell.

Now here is what I did:

Survey point and project base point switched to visible

Terrain model loaded via "Link CAD"
in the command "Coordinates" --> "Get coordinates" and I selected the dwg file because I want the coordinates from them and want to drag my Revit model into this terrain.

The thing is as soon as i set the coordinates for the project base point it goes where I want it to be but it'

s just that, only the point moves but not my model. Does someone know what to do?

I'd appreciate any tips and tricks.I'm using Revit 2022 and I want it there where the green arrow points.

hey, thanks for the tip!
the thing is that he/she just moves his base point in the video and the whole modell is being moved with it. But the problem of mine is that it just doesnt do it, im moving the base point with the command "move" and it does nothing except moving just that point elsewhere. Also i tried giving it coordinates via this "giving a point coordinates"

@ferhatkarakaya

Are the building and the terrain in 2 different models?...if yes, you need to use Publish or acquire coordinate.

example: if the coordinates from the terrain are correct, you link the terrain >> move/align it as you would like it to be (in plan views and elevation, the Manage tab on the Ribbon >> project location panel >> Acquire Coordinates

Once you save that, you establish the shared site bzw. the shared coordinates system between the 2 models

Hi thank you for your help!
Sorry for the late answer, it has been a stressful week.

It worked just fine, the thing is that the Autocad file just was connected to my lowest layer and i couldnt change it when I imported it. For everyone who is having a similiar issue: I connected the Autocad file with my revit file as you said and then I needed to set up the coordinates for my project base point with the command "enter coordinates at point" So the coordinates worked perfectly fine but the height wasnt correct so i needed to set up the height of the Autocad file manually down.

If anyone knows how to import an Autocad file (a 3D object) into another layer, i would be really curious for that answer.

Kind regards,

Ferhat :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

PS: The commands are in german in the pictures.
