Match Lines subcategory

I thought I struck gold with Match Lines's subcategories because I need lines to show on different Views without having them as model lines.  Then the reality struck when I couldn't find away to assign the new subcategory to any Match Lines I drew.

Me too. The only thing I could find out that worked was overriding graphics in view.

Makes me wonder what is the point of the Matchline Subcategory if we can't assign it? Is it any better in 2018?

Hi @ToanDN and @Sahay_R

Thanks for pointing out this issue!

I see what you are saying about this tool.

Let me see if I can extract some information from the developers with regard to assigning match-lines and subcategories, and if there is a in-progress functionality in the latest version.

Hello @ToanDN and @Sahay_R

Below is an update from the team regarding the match lines subcategory.

  • Few customers change their matchlines via the contextual menu > Override in view > Element.  They can also hide the matchlines in this way, if needed. Alternatively, some customers put matchlines in multiple worksets for additional on/off control.
  • However, It may be possible to allow Matchlines to have an instance parameter that uses its subcategory - a project that a scrum team would need to take on and prioritize.

Posting to the ideas station is recommended to gain votes - will follow up from there based on priority.

Contrary to what it says, this is not actually solved. Just another request for changes.

For whoever looking for better control of visibility of matchlines, just use headless multi segment gridlines. They are kind of same but with many more options. You can control their height in uncropped sections when it says "3D" next to them.
