Hi All,
I was asked to create a 3D model of a reception desk which is connected to the ceiling to create an interior feature.
I have been playing with Revit massing for many hours but no luck and I am going crazy.
See captures below of what I am trying to do and also my failed Revit massing attempts. I keep getting lots of errors and the massing geometry keeps breaking.
I wonder if this task is to complicated for Revit 3D modelling environment.
Thanks for any help and pointers.

have you tried using a program like FormIt to make the shape, then import the formit model into Revit. FormIt is like Sketchup, but has cross compatibility with Revit.

it should be... its kinda Autodesk's version of SketchUp. pretty much anything you can do with out of the box SketchUp, you should be able to do in Formit. Plus you get the advantage of it being able to be ported back and forth between the two FormIt and Revit as the shape evolves.

This would be a challenge for any one of us. It's a design challenge first and foremost. Software has little to do with it. Heck, I would have problems sketching it on paper if that screenshot is all I have to go on.
Half sarcastic, Half serious... it might be easier to model it physically and then scan it in with photogrammetry or something like that?

Hi @hmunsell and @barthbradley ... I agree it is a challenging design task.
We are simplifying the concept a bit. This one can be easily done using the regular massing and swept profiles. It is a work in progress.
But thanks for your help.
