I need your help in how to use Mass subcategories.
I can understand how to use Mass Floor, but I cannot figure out how to use -exterior Wall, -Glazing, -Interior Wall, -Opening, -Roof, -Shade and -Zone.
I tried to change the subcategory per face, it assigns to the whole instance, and strangely, it disappears after editing.
I checked the categories are turned on in V/G.

what are your Settings set to for conceptual Mass
options are
Show Mass by View Settings
Show Mass Forms and Floors
in Visibility Graphics, is the Mass box checked (on)
One mass family (in place or conceptual) can only belong to one subcategory. You cannot have different parts of a mass assigned to different subcategories, which is sort of defeat the point of having them. I had submitted an idea to allow improve it in the Idea forum in my signature so if you want you can go there and vote for it.
For now, mass subcategories are there so you can assign to different masses (not parts of them) in order to control there visibility under VG.
kadmonkee,
Thank you very much for the reply.
"Show Mass by View Setting" worked to make those massing to be appeared in a view.

ToanDN,
Thank you very much for the reply.
I think I am clear the intention of these subcategories.
Till now, since it was a conceptural "massing", I've been using it to study a volumn of a builing (usually one form).
But utilizing these, we can design more in detail (to the certain extent) by sub-dviding the shape into other parts (wall, glazing, shade, etc).
