Mass node dragging not in straight lines

Hi All,

 

I am trying to create Mass structure by dragging the nodes of the intermediate points by creating an profile. Its is comming as a curve and not as straight lines. Attached image for reference.

 

Can any one give the solution. I need as a straight line geometry (Just like I drawn in Blue colour)

Is the picture on the right an xray of the form on the left?   I'm not even sure how you got that form from that spline path, but based on the spline path, the shape being made by dragging that edge/node  is correct.  

 

You might want to redo the form without the spline and then add profiles to the form.

  • Tab to select the entire Element and click Dissolve.
  • Then select Profile in pairs : Profile 1 +Profile 2 > Create Form, Profile 2 +Profile 3 > Create Form till finish...
  • Do not add extra Add Profiles to the Element 
  • If necessary Join Geometry ( if does not create a single Element)
  • Now, move the Vertex and it will keep straight edges

Well...

But the Method is not a easy way... dissolving+creating profiles again+dragging....

It should be as... if required in straight lines should come or and option for curve must be given.... because, always we don't need in curves while dragging a node.

 

If required to be as a curve... we can adopt a new profile in intermediate to turn it as curve.

 

In the Previous Methods of Mass creation (Before release Revit 2010), It was easy to do Mass in 5 different ways as Extrusion, sweep, solid swept blend....so on.... But now It is very hard to create forms....

 

Also I understand that, we need non-geometrical forms and shapes... But the way of process in mass is very complicated when compared to previous versions...

 

Just a thought...
