i would try the following:

- ensure masking region is on a plane that is above the object being masked

- upload the family so we can look at it and play with it

Turn on Hidden View.  Maybe you're in Wireframe.

  1. In Plan View, place a Vertical Ref Plane on the Right Side of the two geometries in the View, and then name the Ref Plane.  NOTE: Make sure to draw the Ref Plane slightly offset from the geometry.
  2. In Right Elevation View, Set the Current Workplane to the Named Ref. Plane you just created above.
  3. Draw your Mask Region on that name Ref. Plane, and then uncheck "Draw in Foreground".
  4. Load into Project. Masking Region now fully covers elements behind it.

Nice call the trick  Ref Plane slightly offset from the geometry.

The masking regions do not hide annotation lines, is there a way to fix this problem? Generic annotations will mask, but not when inserted into a model category family.

Did you ever get a solution to this problem or find a work around?

I just had similar issue. I had to create a new ref plane on offset it above an extrusion geometry of a simple cabinet.

I created a void cut to show the door gap in 3D but I did`n want it to appear in floorplan.

Why is this necessary since the Masking region was already set to Draw in Foreground?

I think it sometimes works?

Does anyone know whats the issue with the masking ?

I have it set to another reference plane on top of the 3D. It does mask inside the family but not in the project

Nevermind, I just realized its because of the Cutplane. The cabinet was 2.8 meters tall.

I just hid the extrusion in the Plan view and now it only shows the detail.
