Trying to use map layering in revit, but when going into Modify/ DWG/DXF Export Setup I am trying to load a set of layers from standards from our firm in order for us to implement.
When exporting from Revit I would like to have a set of standards applied automatically so that it saves time.
Also, I am unable to make a template for a set of standards to implement as when trying to do that I am not able to load those standards.
Open you Project Template, create a new Export Setup and name it, then load layering file. In the future, when you export to DWG, just choose the saved Export Setup.
For projects not started from this template, Transfer Project Standards > DWG/DXF Export Setup Settings.
...or use Transfer Project Standards to transfer the DWG/DXF Export Setup Settings between Projects.
Layer Mapping for DWG/DXF Export | Revit 2019 | Autodesk Knowledge Network
Note: Although you can load settings from a text file when creating or modifying an export setup, Revit stores the export setup as part of the project rather than as a separate text file. To share the export setup between projects, use the Transfer Project Standards tool.
Still facing issues, I do not have the file text to load it our firm has our own set of standards.

I'm not following. Are you saying that using TPS doesn't work for you? Doesn't transfer the setup?
Well I am aware that we might have a file with a set of standards to load it into revit, because when I go to "Load Layers of Standards" it is at AIA standards. We are not using AIA standards we are using our own standards.

Yes you will need to load you standard layer mapping text file. If you don't have it, make a copy of the AIA and edit.
Thank you, do you know how to make a copy of the AIA standards text file ?
c:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2022\exportlayers-dwg-AIA.txt
Open this file (example is for Revit 2022, change path for different versions) in notepad or excel, save as to a new TXT file with a new name.
Is there a tutorial for that? I am in notepad and pasted that but nothing happened, so I am confused. Thank you

Pasted what ? From where?
I suggest open the AIA txt file in excel, save as to a different txt file, and edit the content from AIA standards to yours (layer name columns and colors columns). Do not change any format.
Example:
If you are uncomfortable doing it in Excel then you can edit the layer names and colors directly in Revit Export options, then create a new Setup when done. This way, the layer mapping is kept in that template and you can use Transfer Project Standards to other projects as suggested earlier. You just don't have a text file, which is really not a big deal.
Thank you for that file, but where do I get the file from? Because I do not have the file, the c:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2022\exportlayers-dwg-AIA.txt is just a text, and I was trying to look for it but I don't know where to get it from

It is that file. I just opened it in Excel.
I was able to get the text file and all, but how do I make it open in Excel because it does not open with Excel since it is a text file.
