I'm unable to open my Revit file, it says "file is missing many elements, and cannot be opened." None of the fairly recent backup files are working either, meaning that I've lost many many hours of work. It didn't give me any warnings when I was working on the file, and now it just doesn't open. Also, there's no way for me to know what caused it to avoid it happening again. Is there any way of recovering the file and just edit whatever caused the problem?
I'm using the educational version of Revit and there seem to be no way of contacting support with that license.
I'm not even able to open the project for an audit, it gives me the same warning about missing many elements saying it cannot open. Or is there another way to do an audit except for checking the "audit" box when opening a project?
You could try Linking it into a blank project and then Bind and Ungroup it, but that will only save the Model if a 100% successful.
