When selecting objects you may unintentionally select a pinned object which cannot be edited or moved etc.
To avoid this from happening I propose that pinned objects cannot be selectable in normal use.
If you wish to select the pinned object, choose the unselect tool and then click the pin associated with the object for object selection. While in the "unselect tool" mode you should be able to access more than one pinned object if needed.
I think this is a really simple but useful idea so please vote for it ![]()

Ouch! Thats it,
I didn't realise it was already a feature, don't know why they put that button way down there and not up the top with the rest of the buttons.
Thank you for pointing this out DA.GS
Be careful, it's buggy, pinned objects still can be selected and moved if you make a window selection.
No, pinned objects can't be moved, and can not be selected with window selection if "select pinned elements" is disable.

I'm pretty sure that you can in certain conditions. Next time i got the issue, i will come back here.
I couldn't select any pinned objects using a window either so it's working 100% as you would expect.
Up.
I confirm, pinned objects can be selected.
Revit just did it and crash.
I was using the align command. And the pinned linked IFC was selected instead the object i was working on. Revit tried to move the pinned IFC and crashed.
Everything was unticked in the bottom bar, so i normally can't select links and pinned objects.
Hi fruity101079, I haven't ever tried this with a linked file so maybe this is a bug because my understanding is that it shouldn't happen!
