unless it is a chraiteria defined by an already existing wall property/parameter (example: Volume or Level or Height...etc),

  • add a project parameter to walls call it XYZ Walls Color scheme
  • Go to view >> graphics >> Filters
  • Add a new filter
  • Check Walls from the list of catergories
  • Use that parameter you have created above
  • filter using equal

Once done with creating the filter, apply it to the view or add it into a view template which you already have

In my study, we use coarse level detail for the wall typology plans.
In the type properties of each wall, you can select the color for each type.

Beyond that, the best, easiest, and most versatile option, as you've been told, is to use view filters.

If you want a method similar to the room and area color scheme, you can request it in the ideas forum.

It depends what that scheme is for and what you wish to present…you did not specify in the original question

nonetheless, filters is the easiest and quickest without having much impact on the elements you modeled. On the other hand, if it is a material on internal elevations what you wish to present, you can apply the color to that materials under it’s graphics tab

many also prefer to post edit such presentations outside Revit where one can be more artistic and creative
