Low slope roof vs Two Cut - Square

I'm trying to make a low sloping roof with exposed rafters. The roof is a single layer of 5/8" plywood, and a beam system. The problem is when the roof is a 1/12 slope, I cannot set the Construction Rafter Cut, Two Cut - Square, Fascia Depth to less than 9/16", or Revit will delete the roof. If the slope of the roof is increased to anything steeper than a 1/12, this problem does not happen.

Therefore, I cannot get a true square cut at the low end of the roof.

If the fascia depth is set to something to get a square cut, Revit cries.

Am I missing something, or is this more Revit B? TIA. mpp

So your roof assembly is only 5/8" thick or 5/8" + the depth of the beam system?

Maybe. I certainly am.

Is this what you can't do?

@ToanDN the roof is just 1 layer 5/8" thick. What you've shown is a flat, or level, cut cut on the bottom edge. That is what I do not what.

@Anonymous that is what I can do. That is not what I want to do. I want the end of the roof profile to be square, with no flat, or level, cut.

In Roof Construction, Rafter Cut, there're 3 options. The first is Plumb Cut, and it has no setting for fascia depth. The end of the roof profile is simply cut plumb. Very nice and easy. Why the F can't Autodesk make a Square cut be as simple and easy, without having to add a fascia depth dimension that's greater than the fascia depth just to get a square edge profile. ARRRGGHHHHHH!!!!!

Increase fascia depth.

Can't . Revit does this:

If i increase the slope above 1/12, and/or increase the thickness of the roof to 1" or more, it works fine.

Then increase the thickness to 1".  You are not going to have a bare layer of 5/8" plywood as the roof, are you?

There shouldn't have to be another work-around for yet another Revit tool that doesn't work properly. I've encountered this problem before, for example when modeling a curved roof by profile, where the high point of the curved roof is nearly flat. Given the nature of Revit building components vs how buildings are constructed IRL, I model 2 or 3 roofs for a whole assembly. Sometimes there is part of of the assembly that is that thin.

Neither example is a square cut, and you're roof slopes are greater than 1/12

That's exactly what doesn't work for me. I cannot set the fascia depth to 5/8", only up to 9/16", and it gives the horizontal cut. Anything greater than that, and Revit will throw an error and want to delete the roof.
