Hello Comminity,
we have an issue with several project files, where we keep losing elements, mostly 2D elements, views and plans after synchronizing. It has resulted in several of work loss hours. An adjacent problem is that in some cases, we are unable to synchronise for several minutes. In these cases Revit either synchronises and we continue working, with or without lost elementsm or it does not and we have to close and open again. In the case that we reboot the program, we often get the message 'The model <Filename>.rvt is missing many elements, and it cannot be opened. ' . At this point we have to create a new central model. We also checked the journal files and they dont show any irregularities.
This issue has been happening since mid February. Has anyone ever had similar issues and possible solutions?
Thank you!
Are you and your team creating a new local model every time you open the model? If you are using too old of a local file, this can override work or cause corruption.
@juliar123 There are some people who did and some who didn't. Would the corrupted elements show in the journal in a way I could find something?
You should always open a new local file. You will get the latest central model among many other benefits. I bet this is where a lot of your disappearing work is coming from.
Also, Check to make sure everyone is currently working in the latest updated version of whatever year of Revit you are working in.
As for the corruption, and specifically missing elements, this link gives you a better idea of what to look for in the journal file: https://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2023/ENU/?guid=GUID-9AFAAE6B-4107-4478-8B80-53467FE118DB
