Hi all,
As a manufacturer (electrical; lighting and systems), what would you consider essential to have in a revit family in order to qualify as an LOD500? What parameters and graphical representation would you consider?
From what I have seen, there is no correct/direct answer to that (depends on the industry, project, local standards..), but let's say you're building your company portfolio, no specific project associated. I would like to have examples from your industry and experience!
Thanks in advance,
Yara Pereira
Anything beyond LOD400 becomes more of a client specific requirement. There is no consensus neither over a common national nor international standard for that.
As a manufacturer you should be concerned about the BIM objects standards ... you can check the NBS library on that topic they have quite some useful info you could use https://www.nationalbimlibrary.com/en/nbs-bim-object-standard
For more on LOI/LOD check also their BIM Toolkit

in addition to what RDAOU has already mention in his post, I'll mention that , in order to create good Revit Family would be worth to consult Bimstore Bible issued by BIMstore : https://www.bimstore.co/
You can download the last version from:
