Locking the elements

Currently we are using design options to lock the elements like cores, slabs, grids, etc. which is very important for every projects. Is there any other way to lock them?

Put them in a workset owned by the one person having responsibility / knowledge of the items.

And don't forget to untick option *release all worksets* while synchronizing...

You can "pin" items as well and turn off the selection mode that allows you to select pinned elements. That is another way to keep them "protected".
