Revit Community,
I have a question? So I my company and is trying to same a step in our design process. So what I want to do is use generic walls for the design stage preferably stud width. Then sent that over to my Commercial kitchen layout company, and have them lock there objects to my walls. Then have the architect add wall layers to my generic walls. But I want the kitchen equipment to move with the wall thickness when the Architect adds the wall layers. Is that possible or am I just dreaming. I'm trying to cut out a step of having the Commercial kitchen company from removing all there objects just because the wall thickness changed.
IMO, if you can do it in only 2 steps, I think you are pretty efficient. Even if Revit could do what you want, it would still need to go back to the kitchen layout contractor for checking. And I can't imagine there wouldn't be some tweeking involved -- tweeking that may involve some Architectural changes, such moving a partition wall a couple of inches or slightly reducing the size of an work island to meet clearance standards and codes.
