Location of View - section, elevation, or call out?

Is there anyway to add a parameter to the view title that would pick up the location of the view?  A client has asked and my initial response was no.  I'm pretty sure the answer is no but wanted to check.  Is it possible if the view is inside a room object?  So for instance, have the parameter somehow pickup the room number where the interior elevation view exists?  Thanks for any tips.

Regards Peter.

Thanks but that's not really what was meant.  I mean the physical location.  Like the Room where a section, elevation, or callout occurs.  The client wants a parameter that picks up the location underneath the view title line.  So if the Room is renumbered it would automatically update in the view title.  I can see what you have done would be helpful to find the detail location from the sheet where the detail exists but this is not what they want.  I think I will have to discuss this further with the client as I don't really see how this is required, or helpful.  I may not be understanding what they want.

Regards Peter.

What if there is no room, like an exterior elevation?  What if a call-out placed at a wall intersection that a part of multiple rooms?  It doesn't sound very practical or particularly useful but you can always ask on the Dynamo forum.

I'm thinking the same way you are.  What is the point?  If it is to find the detail then just add the referencing sheet.  I might not fully understand what they want.  I think they currently add a location for some of their details and want to have Revit do it automatically, which is not possible.  Thanks.

We have a Dynamo where you pick the wall then the elevation and it sets the boundary to the wall, renames the elevation to the wall and sets the depth to 1'

Have to manually select the wall, then the elevation, and run. But saves a ton of time setting all the boundaries.

With a section you an pick the wall and create a section around the wall.

So using dynamo you could pick the room then the view and it will rename.

I would think you could have views that are in a room be renamed based on the view curve location vs. the room location. But as noted above there are lots of error catches for views that cross rooms, levels, or are outside all rooms.

Dynamo is poor at error trapping so writing code would be the next step.
