Location of Pattern based family in a project

I've created a mass and added the pattern based family to create a facade covering. (Revit 2017)

I'm trying to order them in a logical manner in a schedule, based on their location in the project (XYZ position).

I can extract the XYZ values with Dynamo, additionally we have a plug in which gnerates the same date.

The problem I'm encountering is that the virtual bounding box of an element is far larger then the element itself. In al 3 directions there's a difference. So I can't specify the exact location of a panel.

The instance parameters for the dimension of the panel are correct. The panels are placed at an angle (slanted facade), and I've noticed that the discrepancies change according the angle of the facade.

Does anybody know what's causing Revit to handle the panels this way?

The images below show the MinPoint and MaxPoint of an element.

The screenshot demonstrates how the bounding box is created. This explains your issues when having slanted objects/

It shows two cubes, one level and one rotated 45 degrees. You can see the difference in the create bounding box

I understand that when an object is slanted the bounding box will be larger as this stays aligned to the XYZ axis. But the box should stil respect the acutal geometry. As it does in your example.

But with the curtain panels (pattern family) the bounding box is much larger, especially the heigth and the width. Width is 3 times as wide. The depth is only slightly larger.

I've done a test with a vertical panel.

And the width and height of the bounding box is still too large. So the problem is definetly unrelated to the angle of the panel.
