Local file name same on different computers

I have two computers working on a workshared central files.  The name of the local file that both computers creates are the same and include my email address.  In the past, the local files contained the user name of the person logged in to the computer.  I am often having a problem with one or the other computer not being able to sync with the central and think it might be from both local files having the same name.  How do you change the name of the local files.

I'm not sure if this is the cause of the sync problems, but if you want to create two local files with different names, that's easy.

The automatic creation of the local files stamps Revit username. (ProjectName_UserName.rvt)

To set the username go to Aplication Menu/Options/General/Username. Or you can simply sign in to your Autodesk acc and that will update the Revit username. Set different usernames on those two computers.

You can rename the existing local files in the windows explorer and that will not brake the link to the central file. Also, you can go file/save as (but do this after the first save- central file save). Close, open the local file and synchronize, it remembers the central file location regardless of the naming of the local file.

Consider your username is " user1"

and email "user1@example.com"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First way ( wont work )

If you open central file using email ( login )then

Computer 1 - user1@example.com_Revit File

Computer 1 - user2@example.com_Revit File

this is a problem when both working simultaneously and may not sync

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Second way ( wont work )is - log out and change the user name

user1

user2

this will create local files using user1_Revit File and user2_Revit file..

but I believe login out wont let you work in Revit, cause Revit keep looking

for license..

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Third way ( This will work )

You need to login using two different email ids.. ( two different education account )

the whole idea of central file and work simultaneously is to have two different people ( 3 or more )

working and syncing their work...and multiple local files with same name will work but

the one who syncs LAST, will update the central file and others will loose their work progress.

Has there been any other fixes for this problem. I am trying to work from a home computer using the same Autodesk login as my work computer. Is there anyway to change the local file per computer?
