I need to load some 2x2 steel angles to make a simple frame, but get error messages when trying to load them as a Component. Do I have to load them as structural columns and beams?
Look for them in the project browser and drag drop to place in your model. They are structural family so they behave as such (columns and beams). Can you share what you are trying to draw?
I just need a frame like below. The verticals are 'columns' and the horizontals are 'beams'. Seems silly since they are only 2x2's! I thought I would be able to load a 2x2 L-angle into the project, copy them, and move / rotate into place as in Sketchup.
I used the L-angle profile for the sweep, but am unable to align the edges of the angle to the face of a wall. The profile is being inserted at its analytical insertion point, and is resisting being moved or rotated.

Save the profile to a new file, edit it and change per below. Load it into your custom family only, do not load it in the original structural framing family.
