Links show on every level.

Is there anything that can be done to have links obey the view range when they are linked into a model?

For instance, I work on multifamily projects, and our apartment units are links. When we link in the units on all the levels they need to be on, the links on the first level will show all the way up to the upper levels, and vice versa, the upper level links will show on the lower levels.

Have you tried linked by view? Link by view basically takes the Revit link view and project it to your current model. Basically it will override the current model view range and rely on the link to project it's view.

It should be unless you have something weird going on. Could you share a small model and link that exhibits the behavior?

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Thanks for the reply, I did some more digging in my models... I know.... and I see now that by linked view actually causes the issue. When the links are set to by host view and not overridden, they obey the view range of that vie. But once I set them to by linked view, it shows our areas and area tag we have in our unit links across all the levels. Once those are off everything obeys the vr.
