Linking Xref and Shared Coordinates Problem

Hello everybody,

I have a question regarding linking Xref and shared coordinates.

I am using Revit for Landscape architecture purposes and I am working on a shared Model together with other teams of Architects, Engineers, etc. The Model has been arranged and generally organized by a BIM Manager, in particular, the Survey Point, Project Point, Shared Coordinates were clarified based on the Measure Plan we both received and used in the first phase as a common reference.

Lately, I found myself in need to update some elements/layers of this cad Xref file, however every time I link or import this xref from cad there is a message appearing on Revit that states that the CAD and the RVT Model do not share the same coordinates, and I have to insert with the option origin to Origin.

Then I manually move my xref according to the xref of the architects which thankfully I have inside the shared Model on the server, however, I would like to know what is the issue if I am missing some steps or elements in understanding the entire right workflow to adopt.

Also, after I overlap manually my xref with the xref of the architects inside the Revit model if I make some changes in my xref cad file and reload the cad what happens is that the file automatically moves to the default coordinates though it is pinned and even if I try to say in the properties panel of the cad to acquire the share coordinates of the Revit model.

Can anyone help me?

I hope I made it clear, in case not I can add some images.

Thank you for any clarification or tips you can give me guys, and I excuse myself in case this issue has already been discussed.

Doesn't sound like you Shared Coordinates either by Acquiring or Publishing. Did you?

Hello,

I am still learning how to work on the workshare Model, so I excuse myself because I did not quite grasp totally your question. Can you please clarify what do you mean?

What I know is that I received a Model already organized and set by the Bim Manager: with a specific site with specific shared coordinates for the survey point and the project point, and where of course all our BIM Models (Architecture, Plumbings, Landscape) were positioned according to these shared coordinates. Everything works well from this point of view, but as soon as I try to import/Link the survey plan received from the client, this has different coordinates, although on the Autocad Survey Plan I can check that the coordinates of the survey point are actually the same of the Survey point in the Shared Revit Model.

Thank you for any information or clarifications you can give me,

FL
